VMworld Survey: High Availability for Printing
October 27, 2016
68% Don’t Realize That Virtualization Alone Doesn’t Deliver High Availability for Printing
At this year’s VMworld events in Las Vegas and Barcelona, we surveyed over 1,500 booth visitors on virtualization and high availability aspects of printing.
The results showed that 58% of respondents virtualize their print servers with 15% planning to in the near future. 49% have high availability requirements when printing. In addition, 68% percent wrongly believe high availability is guaranteed with virtualization alone.
Unfortunately a misconception as print server virtualization protects mainly against hardware and virtual server failure. Much more frequent are faulty printer drivers or incompatibilities among the drivers themselves.
ThinPrint 11 closes this gap and ensures high availability with its comprehensive approach. All measures are combined in a single, easy-to-manage solution.
